POLB90: Comparative Development in International Perspective, Summer 2024

This course introduces the theories, history, and politics of international development, examining debates over economic growth, human development, sustainability, and inequality. Students explore how colonial legacies, gender, race, and global power relations shape development, alongside contemporary issues such as developmental states, emerging powers, and South–South cooperation in trade and development finance.
